Adidas Plans To Sell Yeezys Under New Name

Adidas will continue to sell Yeezy shoe designs without the Yeezy name after breaking ties with designer and rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye.
Adidas ended its partnership with Ye after a series of anti-semitic comments, including a podcast appearance in which he said, “I can say antisemitic things, and Adidas cant drop me.”
In an earnings call on Wednesday, Adidas Chief Financial Officer Harm Ohlmeyer made it clear the company owns the rights to the designs.
Ending the partnership cost Adidas more than $500 million in revenue and $250 million in profit the company said.
Selling the shoes under its own branding, however, would save Adidas some $300 million in royalty payments and marketing fees in 2023, the company said.
